A full tour of Mount Etna, a UNESCO site since 2013, giving the opportunity to scour the slopes of the mountain as well as altitudes. Departure by bus with tour leader, our first point of arrival is the Alcantara Gorge, where we make a short stopover. The Gorges of the Alcantara river are formed from solidified basalt and are quite impressive. You can walk along the bed of the river by paying an extra ticket. Then by bus again, reaching up 1,900 meters, the Etna Station. Stop with the possibility of soft trekking for visiting the most recent lava flows. Lunch is extra. Optional ascent to the main craters area at approximately 2,900 (*) meters with the assistance of licensed guides of the CAI (Italian Alpine Club ) responsible for the reachable altitude. Stop to admire the eventual activity of the summit craters in the area of security. We strongly recommend warm clothing and suitable shoes. By purchasing the ascent on board the bus, this will have an increased cost. Return around 5.30pm. 

  • Please note that from 5th of May and 15th of May 2026 the cable car on Rifugio Sapienza located on the south side of Mount Etna will be under maintenance, so the stop and ascent will be done on the North side Piano Provenzana only by jeep, no cable car for this period.
